Writing Strategy: Writing Rope

Think of writing like making a strong rope. Each writing skill is one strand, such as having great ideas, organizing thoughts, making strong sentences, choosing the right words, spelling correctly, and using punctuation. We practice each strand and then weave the strands together to make our writing stronger!
Writing is a slower thinking process then speaking. To be a better speaker, it is helpful to become a better writer. When writing you have more time to think and organize your thoughts and review what you have written. If you difficult writing properly and clearly, you will have more difficulty speaking.
This writing stratgey helps you to put all of the writing components together so you can be a more proficent writer and speaker.
